West Wales Exporters AssociationThe Chamber has a close connection with the West Wales Exporters Association. The Association has a pro-active membership of private and public sector organisations, whose members come from an area covering Bridgend, Neath Port Talbot, Swansea and Carmarthen. The Association was formed in 1994 and has covered a variety of events. Membership levels have remained constant over the years and the Association has networked closely with other groups and organisations to encourage membership and ultimately to encourage exporting for the first time. The Association meets on nine occasions during the course of the year to share best practice and encourage export activity amongst new and established exporters. Topics for discussion include practical topics like Customs and Excise, New Technology and Market Research and also Market Sector events themed around the country under discussion, these events always prove popular and have seen events held in Indian, Australian and Italian restaurants which add to the occasion. The Association has launched its own export support grant scheme in conjunction with HSBC Ltd. The grant has seen 6 local companies benefit from the grant and it has allowed them to explore new market opportunity for the first time.  |
