Our Manifesto

The South Wales Chamber of Commerce Manifesto creates the foundation of the Policy and Representation service we deliver to you, and is the platform from which the Chamber voice is heard.

Its key objectives are:

• to account for your views and opinions
• to draw attention to the barriers faced by our Chamber members at the heart of their business communities
• to make recommendations to decision and policy making bodies on issues and topics that are a priority to you, the local businesses we represent.

It aims to be a powerful and influential document which not only addresses the business topics and issues of consistent concern to our members, but voices the problems, praise, questions and opinions of our members surrounding them to key decision and policy makers, stakeholders and partners within the South Wales region – and beyond.

We have identified four business topics as being of consistent concern to our members, these are: the Economy, Procurement, Infrastructure and the Environment. Each topic is underpinned by an aim and is accompanied by five key priorities concerning it , each identified by the South Wales Chamber from listening to its members.

Economy

Aim: “to create an economic environment where a new generation of entrepreneurs can flourish, where employment and learning opportunities are created and where business growth, research, innovation and trade are encouraged.”

Procurement

Aim: “to recommend SME friendly procurement processes and encourage public sector engagement within the business community."

Infrastructure

Aim: “to call for the immediate investment into and modernization of our transport networks and ICT infrastructure."

Environment

Aim: "to create a sustainable environment for future generations and ensure that energy efficiency meaures are affordable, reliable and not burdensome to small and medium enterprises."
