Quarterly Economic Survey

Stats imageThe Quarterly Economic Survey for Quarter 4 2010 will be available to complete from the 15th November to the 6th December

The Quarterly Economic Survey is the largest business survey of its kind in the UK. The information you provide enables us to gauge local business confidence and serve you in the most productive way. It is particularly important in the current economic climate that the issues and concerns of businesses are accurately represented so they can inform the development of regional and national economic policy.

Your feedback is essential not only to understand the views of business in the local area but is also used nationally, with both the Bank of England and Treasury using the results to gauge business sentiment.

Please endeavor to complete the survey.

It will take less than four minutes to complete.

If you do not receive a survey and would like one, please email: swcc.qes@thethirdstage.com.

All completed surveys will be entered into a prize draw, with the winner receiving two free places to the Christmas Lunch in Cardiffon the 17th December, so make sure to fill yours in.

Frontline Feedback Forums

The Government will publish the Comprehensive Spending Review on October 20th. We would welcome any feedback on the contents of the review and what you feel are the negative/positive aspects for South Wales.

We will be holding a series of small forums on the 16th of November at the following times and locations:

9.30-11 - Marriott StPierre, Chepstow

12-1.30 - Green Meadow Golf Club, Cwmbran

3-4.30 Utility and Environmental SolutionsBuilding, TredomenBusinessPark

The objective of the session is to understand some of the key aspects currently facing Welsh businesses and build on the picture we, at the South Wales Chamber of Commerce, see from our Quarterly Economic Survey.

Whilst the economy has been under some pressure for a while, we are aware some businesses are doing well and we would like to capture your views on:

  • Competition
  • Tax impacts on business
  • Support that would help you move forward
  • Bureaucracy and red tape

If you would like to attend please contact martyn.evans@southwaleschamber.co.uk or phone 01633 242724

The Department for Business Innovation and Skills has produced a new 'health check' publication to help local businesses spot early signs of decline in their High Street, with guidance on how to draw up an action plan to rejuvenate areas of decline. The document can be accessed here
