South Wales Chamber Strengthens Team with Policy & Representation Officer

New Appointment Expands Chamber’s Services

The South Wales Chamber of Commerce has today announced that it has recruited Natalie Taylor as policy and representation officer.

This appointment represents a significant milestone in the development of the South Wales Chamber of Commerce; providing a new service to its members and the business community of South East Wales.

Natalie, 31, has significant experience of working with the Welsh Assembly Government, and bridging the gap between the public and private sector in Wales. Having previously been a driving force behind the success of the Local Supplier Development Programme in South Wales; Natalie is acutely aware of the issues facing local businesses, and how the development of government policy can help or hinder their growth prospects.

“These are difficult times for business, where the effect of government policy is particularly profound; making this appointment highly important,” said David Russ, managing director of Centre for Business; incorporating the South Wales Chamber of Commerce. “Natalie will draw on her experience and contacts to develop the Chamber’s policy and lobbying services, ensuring that the key issues facing our members and local businesses reach the highest echelons of local and national government.”

In her role as policy and lobbying executive, Natalie will spread her time equally between the Chamber’s Newport and Cardiff offices, ensuring that she has a deep understanding of the main concerns of businesses throughout South East Wales.

Natalie adds: “This is a very exciting time to be joining the South Wales Chamber of Commerce. As an established Chamber with a much wider remit there is a real opportunity – and responsibility – to ensure that the issues facing local businesses are communicated to policymakers. Over the coming weeks I will be making contact with our members, local businesses and key influencers within the WAG to help ensure that the voice of the South Wales business community’s is heard where it matters.”
