South Wales Chamber is going from strength to strength
South Wales has one powerful and united voice to represent and support businesses on a regional and national scale. The South Wales Chamber now officially incorporates the West Wales Chamber of Commerce and is ambitious as ever.
The chamber has gone from strength to strength over the past 15 months, taking over the unfortunate demise of the Cardiff Chamber of Commerce in October 2008 and recently merging with the West Wales Chamber of Commerce.
Currently representing over 100,000 employees throughout South Wales and having some of the biggest names in business as members such as EADS, NatWest, Admiral, Corus, Cardiff Blues, Peacocks and the Celtic Manor the chamber is plowing full steam ahead.
Small, medium enterprises have experienced the wrath of the recession, particularly in South Wales and ensuring they make a speedy and successful recovery moving into 2010 is high on the agenda.
David Russ, Managing Director of the South Wales Chamber, said: “We have had an overwhelming year and have seen some outstanding developments within the chamber.
“Moving forward into 2010 we are aiming high and have a number of ambitious targets on the agenda. The main one will be using our powerful regional voice, to represent businesses on a number of key issues such as business rates and the need for high speed rail.
“We are also aiming to double our membership and unlock other opportunities to increase the benefits we can offer our members, now stemming from Chepstow to Pembroke.”
Speaking highly of the South Wales Chamber of Commerce, member Owen Roberts, Business Development and Communications Manager from Tracesmart Ltd, said: “The South Wales Chamber has built up an excellent reputation within Wales and has firmly established itself as the nation’s most prominent business support organisation. We are proud to be associated with the chamber.”
